The voices of a vibrant, ethnic community

Richmond, Vir. is home to a diverse array of ethnic communities. Throughout the year, more than 12 multicultural festivals showcase the food, music, and history of these communities. In addition, many organizations and people host benefits to increase social capital for communities outside of Richmond.

Locavores flock to Farmer’s Market

This week is National Famer’s Market week. Richmond Farmer’s Markets and community gardens are a growing local trend. See, hear, and sample the South of the James Market, the most popular market in town. Each Saturday, locals flock to the market to purchase items from Richmond growers and artisans, or to simply hang out with their neighbors. Stacie Moulds, board chair of Tricycle Gardens shares about her passion for helping people grow food and the popularity of community gardening.
